Name: OPERA CLASS IN HONOR OF ELENA OBRAZTSOVА
On January 12th, 2016, it was one year since Elena Obraztsova’s pass. Opera Class in honor of her is a tribute to grateful memory of the great singer and teacher from her friends, partners, pupils and Prize-Winners of her competitions.
The name of the concert has several meanings: Opera Class is a highest class of mastery of an opera artist; it’s also an educational class, where professional formation of a singer, learning the repertoire, performance culture and vocal technique take place.
In Elena Obraztsova’s last years a care for youth was the main theme for her as a teacher. She gave master classes in various countries and served as a chairwoman at the leading European internaional vocal contests; she also arranged her own competitions of young opera singers and young volcaists and performed the concerts together with her students and Prize-Winners. Elena Obraztsova strove for drawing youth into creativity and appearance before an audience. She considered artists’ personal contact with audeince their genuine training…
Elena Obraztsova Opera Class is a spirit of the apprenticeship, constant perfection in music and complete artistic faith; it means to be respectful to an artistic personality and individuality and to devote yourself to the art completely. It’s a class of a whole-hearted love for music, art and singing; it’s to learn art as a source of joy and optimism…

The concert program includes music of four centuries of the opera history: from Gluck to Bernstein, with participation of the outstanding masters such as People’s Artists of the USSR Makvala Kasrashvili and Zurab Sotkilava, People’s Artist of Russia Hibla Gerzmava, students of the Moscow Conservatory Veronica Ershova andAlexandra Sennikova, Prize-Winners of the Elena Obraztsova competitions and participants of her master classes: student of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music Badral Chulunbaatar, soloist of the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre Yulia Mennibaeva and artists of the Youth opera program of the Bolshoi Theatre Ekaterina Morozova,Bogdan Volkov, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Alexander Roslovets, Arseny Yakovlev and Ilya Kutyukhin.
The concert will be accompanied by the Moscow Chamber Orchestra «Musica Viva», Artistic Director — People’s Artist of Russia Alexander Rudin, with participation of the Choir of the Opera Theatre of the Moscow Conservatory, Artistic Director and Principal Choirmaster – Professor Valery Polekh.
